Acevo have developed new briefing papers on best practice in negotiation, tendering and bidding, impact reporting and VAT issues in establishing delivery partnerships and consortia. These are available to download from the Finance Hub website.
Acevo are set to deliver essential negotiation and procurement skills training and guidance to the third sector, based on the briefing papers.
In learning to manage these processes third sector organisations can benefit from growing and diversifying their income revenue. This crucial project will deliver major benefits to chief executives and senior managers in the third sector as well as funders in bodies such as Local Authorities and Primary Care Trusts.
Acevo in partnership with the DTA, won the contract bid through the Finance Hub in June 2007. Briefings published in September 2007 are available on the Finance Hub and Acevo websites along with other web materials on the topics.
There will be a total of eight seminars staring in November and running through to February 2008. Sessions are scheduled to be held in Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cambridge, Leeds, London, Manchester, and Newcastle. The project will target the following organisations:
- Frontline VCOs specifically, small local, small national and social enterprise
- Funders and policy makers
- Infrastructure agencies
Acevo CEO Stephen Bubb said.
’’Engaging with both third sector chief executives and funders will provide vital leadership on this important issue. These are skills which must be cascaded through third sector organisations and to all of those involved in commissioning. We must get it right if the sector is to move forward. Developing partnerships, a shared understanding and a mature attitude to procurement and contracting is essential.’’
