EXPERT GUIDE

Top Tips

  • don’t wait for a funder or a lender to ask you for a Business Plan – develop one for your own needs
  • look at other agencies’ plans and different templates for Business Plans for ideas on how to develop and organise yours
  • allow plenty of time to develop your Plan
  • involve everyone who needs to be on-board with the plan
  • don’t let someone else write it for you. Get help, but make sure you develop your own plan(s)
  • if you are paying someone to help you write your plan, see if there is any financial help with the costs available. Normally, if there is help available, you’ll need to apply before you start the work or appoint anyone formally
  • review the plan regularly and keep it up to date.
