The guide includes advice, checklists and a series of exercises that groups and advisers can use to work through the issues involved in developing a sustainable approach to fundraising.

National Association for Voluntary and Community Action

NAVCA is the national voice of local voluntary and community infrastructure in England. This section of their website provides a range of resources that are useful for local third sector organisations and for local infrastructure organisations.

Grantsonline

The A-Z Directory of UK Grant Making Trusts is a free resource from the Grantsonline website. The directory provides direct links to the trusts (where appropriate) as well as a summary description of the types of grants available.

Institute of Fundraising

The Institute of Fundraising is the professional body that represents fundraisers in the UK. It’s mission is to support fundraisers, through leadership, representation, standard-setting and education, to deliver excellent fundraising.

Funderfinder

Funderfinder produce a range of information sheets on funding and fundraising which are available from their website.

Apply Yourselves

This free software from FunderFinder helps you write effective funding applications. Use it to draft a letter or proposal to funders.

FunderFinder GIN  £

This is a piece of software for grant seekers. It contains about 4,500 charitable trusts and foundations that fund voluntary and community groups in the UK.

Lottery Funding

This is a joint website run by all Lottery funders in the UK. The site allows you to search for information on current funding programmes across all Lottery grant makers.

Big Lottery Fund

The Big Lottery Fund provides details and criteria for different initiatives and their application processes.

Governmentfunding

This website provides access to Government grants for the voluntary and community sector. It includes background information under ‘Help and Advice’, and you can register to receive up-dates, as well as search for grants and browse for grants by government department.

Trustfunding.org.uk  £

Trustfunding.org.uk is a website with details of all trusts included in the Directory of Social Change and Charities Aid Foundation publications.

Profunding

Profunding provides up-to-date news and information to all those involved in raising funds for not for profit organisations. The organisation also runs an email-based service for smaller organisations and fundraisers called SMALLfri.

UK Fundraising  £

UK Fundraising is a useful resource for fundraising. It includes links to funders' websites, book lists, training courses and other resources linked to fundraising.

VolResource

VolResource is a free source of useful information on anything to do with running a voluntary organisation (whether a community group, charity, or other non-profit body). It includes some funding information.

CaritasData

CaritasData has a website called Charities Direct, which has some free information about grant-making charities.

Charity Trends 2007

This publication from the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) research team provides up-to-date statistics and analysis on: current trends in fundraising; charity income and expenditure; details of the top 500 fundraising charities; and company donations.
